The Story_

Mr. Moussallem Akil opened his first clothing store on Hamra Baalbak street in Beirut in 1989. Although it was an immediate success, the constraints of the war forced Mr. Akil to open another store that same year in Tyre, in the south of Lebanon, to secure his investment. Witnessing the potential for an array of stores carrying the same kinds of products, Mr. Akil successively opened seven more popular stores across the country in the following years.

Akil Bros’s initial offering covered a wide selection of clothes and shoes for men, women and children, in a variety of styles, from formal to casual. Akil Bros rapidly began introducing home accessories and furniture to its stores, mimicking the offering of upscale department stores.
Today, Akil Group operates 12 stores across Lebanon and has become a successful and popular retailer in the country.

From early on, Akil Group has aimed at expanding its business beyond the local region. In 2001, Akil Group established its retail business in Angola under the name ‘ABA’ (Akil Bros Africa/Angola). Today, over 16 ‘ABA’ stores selling clothing and a very large selection of household items can be found in the major parts of the country. The total store areas is now 3000 sqm. ABA also owns seven warehouses with a total area of 5000 sqm.
Our market strategy is based on offering extremely competitive prices for highly sought-after clothing and household items. Akil Bros
